Gravity
Waves at Low-Mid Latitudes from NRCM
Global distribution of atmospheric gravity waves is
key to the understanding of middle and upper atmosphere dynamics. In a recent
study, we examined the gravity waves from the Nested Regional Climate Model
(NRCM). These animations show the vertical wind fields at 20 km with zonal
wavelength between 100-200 km, 200-400 km, 400-800 km, and 800-1600 km from
NRCM simulation of 1-8 January, 2005.
